America First, Common Sense Last: The Price of Performative Patriotism | Ep 2

🇺🇸 America First, Common Sense Last
When patriotism starts sounding like PR, and the receipts don’t match the slogans.

💭 Thinking Out Loud
You ever notice how every time a politician says they’ve got a “bold new plan,” it somehow ends with you paying more at the grocery store?
Yeah. Same.
In 2025, “America First” has turned into a mood — a marketing campaign with more hashtags than logic.
Everybody’s out here yelling about saving the country, but nobody seems to be saving the people who live in it.
We keep hearing about “big moves” and “strong leadership,” but from where I’m sitting, it’s looking like:
> America First… Common Sense Last.
---
🧠 Policy or Performance?
Listen — I’m all for pride in your country. But can we talk about how performative it’s gotten?
Every new rollout feels like an ego trip disguised as strategy.
“America First.” “Build Back Better.” “Keep America Great.”
All catchy. All conveniently vague.
And while the cameras flash and the speeches get sound bites, regular people are over here counting coins at checkout.
Because every time they “make a move,” the average American gets hit with another bill, another rollback, another excuse.
It’s not strategy. It’s theater.
And the tickets are non-refundable.
> “We’re running the country like a marketing campaign — and guess who’s paying for the ad space?”
---
💸 The Price of Ego Economics
Let’s just say it: this ain’t leadership — it’s Ego Economics.
That’s when decisions are made for headlines, not households.
Where every “patriotic” policy comes with a side of pain at the pump.
They say, “We’re protecting American jobs.”
Okay, cool.
But if that’s true, why are so many of those “American companies” still sending jobs overseas while groceries and rent climb like they’re in competition?
If this is what protection looks like, I’d hate to see neglect.

🔥 Patriotism or Gaslighting?
At some point, we have to stop confusing chaos with courage.
You can love your country and still call it out when it’s wildin’.
Because real patriotism ain’t just flag-waving and fireworks — it’s accountability.
It’s the kind of love that doesn’t let you lie to yourself and call it progress.
If “America First” keeps leaving Americans broke, burnt out, and behind… then who exactly is it for?
> “Patriotism shouldn’t cost your peace and your paycheck.”
---
🪞 Reflection
So let’s sit with this for a second:
When’s the last time a politician made a decision that actually made your life easier?
When’s the last time a headline didn’t come with hidden fees?
What if — instead of falling for slogans — we started demanding substance?
What if we stopped mistaking volume for value?
Because real progress doesn’t need a press conference. It needs a plan.

🧠 My Final Word
I love this country, I do.
But love without honesty is delusion.
America doesn’t need another catchphrase — it needs common sense, accountability, and maybe a little therapy.
So until next time — keep your receipts, protect your peace, and don’t let anybody gaslight you into thinking dysfunction is destiny.
Because over here?
We stay loud, logical, and unapologetically real.
